McCowan has started this season on better form with 3 goals and 4 assists across the opening league and cup games.

Dundee may require a bigger fee to prise away their star man with Hibs having made an unsuccessful attempt earlier in the summer window with the amount thought to be £750K.

McCowan is a player who clearly knows the league and has been described as a supporter of Celtic and with the rumours beginning to swirl he may look to force a transfer with less than 2 years on his contract left.

For Celtic fans it may well be a positive repeat of transfers gone by, Hartley and Robson to name a few, a hard worker with an eye for a pass and goal. On the other hand this could be money better spent on a player who wouldn't just be brought in as back up like Celtic have done in the past with players like Flood and Cifti.

Arne Engels

This one has come out of nowhere so this may be a complete nonsense rumour, a fun one at that. Arne Engels looks to be a hot prospect in the German leagues at the moment and would make a welcome change for Celtic to sign one of the Bundesliga's top talents instead of the other way about.

This one has come out of nowhere so this may be a complete nonsense rumour, a fun one at that. Arne Engels looks to be a hot prospect in the German leagues at the moment and would make a welcome change for Celtic to sign one of the Bundesliga's top talents instead of the other way about.

Engels played 32 games last year managing  just 3 goals and 5 assists.

Although these stats don't seem to set the world alight it is important to know some of the facts. Last season alone Engels was credited with playing in multiple positions, Lb, LW, LM, RM, CM & DM. This could be a player Rodgers has identified as a rolling midfielder but one who could cost us as much as €10 Million.

Engels does look like a player for the future and with him playing regular first team football he may fancy a move elsewhere to continue that but he may also see the appeal of winning trophies and playing champions league football, with the right attitude he could break into the Celtic Fold.

Ben Doak, where to start. Ange handed him game time at 16 years old and he looked good, he broke our hearts by moving to Liverpool for a development fee and when you do something like that you create many many bitter fans. like it or not there have been rave reviews around Doak. 6 appearances in total for the Liverpool first team we only caught small glimpses of the player he was turning into and with the call up to Scotland team for the 2024 Euros we had many fans excited to see what he could do. Sadly due to injury Doak pulled out of the Scotland set up and having returned to training with Liverpool new boss Arne Slot has deemed him surplus to requirements. A decision many Liverpool fans are confused about. His successor Jurgen Klopp had seen something in Doak and who would dare question the manager who finally brought the league title back to Anfield.

Liverpool appeared to be only willing to sell Doak with rumours of a fee in the region of £10-12Million however more recently they have appeared willing to loan him out with the option to buy or to gain more experience.

Celtic is a place known to Doak one which he should slot into right away. He knows some of the staff and players and should he wish to keep playing at a high level with champions league football rather than face the choice of playing at a mid-table team in the English Premiership then we could see him return home to Paradise.
